Tareq Amin

CEO

Tareq Amin serves as the CEO of HUMAIN, an integrated artificial intelligence company owned by the Public Investment Fund of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He leads the development of a national AI platform operating across four integrated layers, including infrastructure, cloud, data, models, applications, and solutions. An American of Jordanian descent, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Physics from Portland State University in Oregon. He began his career at Intel, then held leadership positions at T-Mobile and Huawei. He moved to Reliance Jio in India as Senior Vice President of Technology Development and Automation, where he contributed to the transformation of the Indian telecommunications industry. He joined Rakuten and founded Rakuten Symphony in 2021. He led the construction of the world’s first fully virtualized, cloud-native mobile network for Rakuten Mobile. He demonstrated the viability of Open RAN technology through tangible results in cost reduction, accelerated deployment, and improved network performance. He was appointed CEO of Rakuten Mobile in 2022 to drive growth in Japan and integration with global operations. He is recognized as a pioneer in Open RAN and the transformation of telecommunications networks through the convergence of IT and CT. He is distinguished by his ability to build massive technology ecosystems from scratch and lead multinational teams in unprecedented transformative projects. He participates in LEAP 2026 as a leader of one of the Kingdom’s most prominent AI projects, presenting his vision for building a national AI infrastructure that supports Saudi Arabia’s ambitions to become a global power in this field.
