Fashion Commission
The Fashion Commission is a Saudi government body established in 2020 under the Ministry of Culture as one of the Kingdom's specialised cultural commissions. Its mandate is to enable and develop the Saudi fashion sector across the full value chain, from design through production, development and product lifecycle management, while strengthening national heritage and identity and contributing to the national economy.
Its programmes include Riyadh Fashion Week, first held in October 2023, the Saudi Fashion Awards, the 100 Saudi Brands initiative, and education and sustainability programmes, alongside international partnerships such as its agreement with Istituto Marangoni to develop fashion education in the Kingdom. The Commission is led by CEO Burak Cakmak and is based on Discovery Street 2 in the King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh.
