Shalayel Museum Traces Saudi Kings' Falconry Legacy at International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2026

The Shalayel Museum is taking part in the International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2026 with an exhibit that traces the bond between Saudi kings and falconry across generations, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The display brings together rare photographs and historical pieces that document a practice rooted in the Kingdom's heritage and carried through its leadership over decades.

The collection follows the legacy from King Abdulaziz through Kings Saud, Faisal, Khalid, Fahd and Abdullah, and on to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, where it presents images captured during various hunting trips, spotlights royal falcons, shows their stands and includes personal memorabilia tied to the tradition.

Beyond the royal record, the museum offers photographs of princes and falconers alongside scenes from the Riyadh falcon market dating to the 1970s and 1985, a selection that underscores how deeply the practice has settled in Saudi society and how it has passed from one generation to the next.

The exhibit sits within the cultural experiences the event provides to its visitors, held from October 1 to 10 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, where heritage displays run alongside the wider programme of the معرض الصقور والصيد السعودي الدولي 2026.
