The Saudi Camel Federation has officially included 'Mazayen' (camel beauty contests) in the Crown Prince Camel Festival 2026 for the first time in the event's history. The announcement was made ahead of the eighth edition, scheduled to take place at the historic Taif Camel Racing Track, with prize money exceeding 50 million SAR distributed across more than 240 racing rounds.
According to the approved schedule, the Mazayen competitions will span three main days dedicated to showcasing 'Mufarrid' camels. Friday, September 4, 2026, will feature colors (Shaqah – Sha'al), Monday, September 7, will host (Wadih – Hamra), and Wednesday, September 9, will conclude with categories including (Asayil 'Bakar' – Safar – Majahim).
This edition coincides with the completion of a major development package at the Taif Camel Track, including a new 11-kilometer training track and upgraded racing surfaces to increase capacity and safety.
The federation emphasized that the festival's growth reflects the generous support of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, which has transformed camel racing from a folk heritage into an integrated sports and economic industry aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
