The Future Minerals Forum (FMF) 2027, the 6th edition of the world’s premier government-led minerals platform, will take place from 12-14 January 2027 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center (KAICC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Organized by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, FMF has established itself as the leading global gathering for the minerals and mining sector, convening governments, investors, industry leaders, and innovators to shape the future of critical mineral supply chains.
The 2027 edition continues the momentum from previous editions that saw 18,000+ participants, 250+ speakers, 70+ ministers, 1,000+ CEOs, and representatives from 170+ countries. FMF 2026 alone witnessed the signing of 132 agreements and MoUs worth SAR 100 billion across exploration, mining, financing, R&D, and sustainability.
FMF 2027 features a comprehensive agenda including the invitation-only Ministerial Roundtable, the International Exhibition showcasing the full minerals value chain from exploration to downstream processing, the MinValley innovation hub highlighting AI, automation, and digital transformation in mining, and the Future Minerals Barometer developed with McKinsey & Company.
Key themes include critical mineral supply chain resilience, the US$6 trillion funding gap in mineral development, the role of AI and technology in exploration and production, sustainable and responsible mining practices, and the empowerment of the Super Region (Africa, Western Asia, and Central Asia) as a mineral hub.
Saudi Arabia’s mineral potential is estimated at US$2.5 trillion, and the Kingdom has transformed its mining sector through the 2020 Mining Investment Law reform, growing licensed mining companies from 6 to over 150 and increasing exploration expenditure to SAR 1.33 billion.
